Huge qualifying crash -
2006/2007 Season
This amazing piece of footage shows Sabre team mates Stefan Webling and Matthew Stubbs have a massive crash on the front straight at Pukekohe during qualifying for Round 3 of the national Championship.Amazingly, both Webling and Stubbs were OK.
The accident took place at somewhere around 170-180 kph just as the two cars approached the start finish line. Matthew Stubbs took to the air briefly after the collision and missed the start finish flag point by less than a metre.
Both cars came to rest about quite a distance down the track. Webling's car was left exposed on the track whilst our camera car (Stubbs) was able to roll his car onto the infield.
This is probably the most dramatic footage we've ever captured on the camera.....
