Reece Hendl-Cox has continued his form at Hampton Downs, taking the race win from Chris Symon after a last gasp pass across the line.
Hendl-Cox and Symon battled it out after they broke away from the field in the second quarter of the race. Thomas Boniface, who started from pole, lead the race for the majority of the first lap until the usual Formula First jostling of positions took place.
Liam Foster would come home third, with Amy Smith fourth ahead of SpeedSport Scholarship driver Ronan Murphy.
Billy Frazer finished sixth after an impressive recovery effort which saw him drop outside the top ten. Frazer and Boniface made contact on lap four at turn two, sending Frazer into a spin. Boniface then encountered more issues when his gearbox failed a lap later, leaving him unable to finish the race.
Ron Carter was again out in front in the sunset championship, finishing seventh ahead of Bob Dillow in eighth. Nathan Sudiono and Flynn Mullany took ninth and tenth ahead of Liam Nicholson and Rob Baker.
Kyan Davie did not finish after his car too suffered a gearbox drama.
