Since 1929 a legendary Auckla…no, a legendary New Zealand motorsport venue has been in operation – and that venue is the Western Springs Speedway.
For over 80 years, this historic motorsport location has been the host for generations of families to socialize and watch in awe as legends such as Frank"Satan"Brewer, Bob Tattersall, Barry Butterworth, Mel Kenyon, A.J Foyt, “Sleepy” Tripp, Jimmy Sills, Jeff Gordon, Dave Darland, Michael Kendall, Ted Tracey and Graham Standring defy belief as they circled the most famous dirt ¼ mile in the southern hemisphere.
Those legendary names have led to present day stars such as Pickens, Mosen, Alach, Swindell, Elliot, Kuhn, Kruseman and Coons Jr. to grace the Springs Speedway arena.
If you haven't already, Click here and join the thirty thousand who have signed the digital petition that will keep the venue alive for future generations who could be inspired to be the next Standring or Butterworth.
(note: just sign up once – duplicate “signatures” will not count)
