Just two rounds remain in the 2024-25 Hi-Q Components NZ Formula First Championship and Chris Symon leads Liam Foster by just 144 points.

We head back to Manfeild for Round 6 in a couple weeks time and with all still to play for who will prevail.

Back at Round 5 of the 2024-25 Hi-Q Components NZ

Back at Round 5 of the 2024-25 Hi-Q Components NZ Formula First Championship the grid was made larger by the addition of Rookie Alicia Kelly in the #71 car.

Alicia finished the weekend with a P16 Qualifying effort and P15, P17, P16 race finishes, consistently finding more pace and getting to grips with the machinery of the 71 car.

As we look towards our final two rounds in April we hope to see Alicia return for more NZ Formula First Action

Round 5 of the 2024-25 Hi-Q Components saw our 4 time champion Chris Symon notch up his 100 National Championship Win in the series, an impressive feat.

Liam Nicholson has picked up the win in the final

Liam Nicholson has picked up the win in the final race of the weekend here at Manfeild for Round 5 of the 2024-25 Hi-Q Components NZ Formula First Championship, his first win of the season.

Chris Symon was narrowly defeated at the line by just 0.039s and Liam Foster was in third.

Top Rookie goes to Cooper Prout in 8th, which has clinched him the Top Rookie honours for the round.

Liam Foster wins opening race of Round 5 under saf

Liam Foster wins opening race of Round 5 under safety car conditions brought on by Daniel Petersen who unfortunately ended his race in the gravel at turn one.

Series leader Chris Symon had an eventful race with a steering arm coming off resulting in some one wheel steering two wide action into turn 7, less than ideal.

Rookie Ben Williams race ended early after his engine let go.

Some good close racing across the field with Top Rookie going to Cooper Prout, and Top Master going to Ian Foster.

We get to do it all again tomorrow for two more action packed races.

Liam Nicholson has picked up Pole for Round 5 of the 2024-25 Hi-Q Components NZ Formula First Championship here at Manfeild, narrowly edging out Harry Scott and Chris Symon, the 3 being separated by just 0.152 in the end.

Top Rookie is Cooper Prout in 8th, a mere 1.609s from the front and Top Master goes to Ian Foster.

This weekend we’re excited to welcome Daniel Petersen back to the series after his absence for the beginning of the season, and we’re excited to formally welcome Alicia Kelly to the series having her first hit out with us this weekend.

The final race of the weekend went the way of Keia

The final race of the weekend went the way of Keiano Weir, taking him to two wins in the 2024-25 Hi-Q Components NZ Formula First Championship.

In a rain affected, safety car race that had it all Keiano triumphed in the wet, followed home by Liam Nicholson and Liam Foster.

Top Rookie goes to Ben Williams, whilst Yoshi Comeskey picks up the round rookie honours.

Ian Foster is yet again the top master.

See you all next round February 22-23 at Manfield.

KEIANO WEIR YOU ARE A HI-Q COMPONENTS NZ FORMULA FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP RACE WINNER.

Keiano Weir has picked up his first NZ Formula First Race win in a very wet and wild race 3 of the weekend here at Hampton Downs, narrowly beating series leader Chris Symon to the line by 0.080s.

Jensen Foster beat series returnee Fletcher Sloan to the line to pick up P3, with Fletcher taking P4, his highest finish in our series to date; congratulations Fletcher.

An unfortunate lap 1 tangle saw Liam Foster and Liam Nicholson come together with the damage seeing the end of Liam Nicholsons race.

Top Master goes to Ian Foster in P12 and Top Rookie goes to Yoshi Comeskey in P6.
