Brody McConkey has marked his return to the class by taking Pole Position for Round four of the Hi-Q Components NZ Formula First Championship at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park. Chris Symon’s unbelievable pace at Taupo landed him a front row start in front of Conrad Clark and Kaleb Ngatoa.
Despite a slipping clutch, Amy Smith set the fifth fastest time in her #55 machine in the very messy session. Callum Crawley will start off sixth. Liam Foster suffered a mechanical drama early on in the session, falling off the track at turn 11
Liam Foster suffered a mechanical drama early on in the session, falling off the track at turn 11. Once returning to the track he pushed through to take seventh place on the grid. Taylor Hurst also had some dramas, brake issues saw him off the track multiple on multiple occasions, but was eventually able to set a lap good enough for eighth.
Championship hopefull Reece Hendl-Cox was unable to utilise his speed, getting caught up in the messy traffic and will start from ninth for Race 10 later today alongside Blake Evans in tenth.
