Boniface slides into pole position

Thomas Boniface has slid his way to his first pole position in the Hi-Q Components NZ Formula First Championship. The Taranaki teen shone in the tricky conditions, setting the pole time by over half a second from Reece Hendl-Cox.

Hendl-Cox will start on the front row ahead of championship rival Chris Symon who will start third. Billy Frazer set the fourth fastest time of ahead Liam Foster.

SpeedSport Scholarship driver Ronan Murphy will start sixth ahead of fellow rookie Kyan Davie who was just 0.056s from Murphy. Amy Smith starts eighth with Nathan Sudiono ninth and Ron Carter leading the way in the sunset championship with tenth.
