Crawley claims close contest

Callum Crawley has claimed a super close affair at Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon, beating Liam Foster to the line by a mere 0.041s. Race one winner Kaleb Ngatoa claimed third by an even closer margin beating Reece Hendl-Cox to the line by just 0.017s.

Reece Hendl-Cox took the early lead, getting by Chris Symon out of the first corner. Conrad Clark and Callum Crawley followed him, pushed Symon down to fourth. Symon was then hit by a similar mechanical drama to the previous race leaving him slow down the straight and effectively ending his race.

A front-running pack then surfaced with Hendl-Cox, Crawley, Clark, Liam Foster and Kaleb Ngatoa all vying for the lead of the race. Crawley quickly established himself as the man to beat while Clark fell off the pack and into the Amy Smith – Bob Dillow battle.

Further back Ian Foster, Alex Hawley, Blake Evans, Paul Bulter, Taylor Hurst and Louis Redshaw ensued on their battle for eighth place. Young charger Evans impressed again as he pulled a gap on the pack to secure the position.

Both Ngatoa and Liam Foster would briefly hold the lead in the final laps but it was Crawley who proved victorious over L.Foster. Ngatoa backed up his win in race one with third, while Hendl-Cox came across the line fourth.

SpeedSport Scholarship driver Conrad Clark claimed fifth ahead of Smith and Dillow, while Evans secured a solid eighth. Unfortunately, Amy Smith was later disqualified due to a technical infringement.

Hawley led home Redshaw in ninth and tenth respectively while I.Foster, Hurst, Butler, Frazer and Dance rounded out the top 15.
