Reece Hendl-Cox has continued his early-season form, taking the second race of the season at Manfeild. Hendl-Cox didn’t have it all his own way this time though, as the dry conditions allowed a much more traditional Formula First race to unfold.
A front running trio of Hendl-Cox, Chris Symon and Liam Foster quickly broke away from the rest of the pack. The experience of the three was evident at they all battled very methodically to try and position themselves best for the final lap.
On the exit of turn five, Hendl-Cox emerged with a gap that looked good enough to take the win, but a charging Symon managed to get right in behind Hendl-Cox’s gearbox after the later made a mistake during the final corner.
Hendl-Cox would hold on to win from Symon by 0.237s with Foster grabbing third. Amy Smith made the biggest charge of the field, coming up from tenth on the grid to fourth by 0.091s over Asten Addy.
Kyan Davie grabbed sixth place ahead of Matthew McCutcheon and Ron Carter. Bree Morris took ninth with Louis Redshaw finishing tenth due to a jump start penalty.
Leo Scott finished 11th, Dave Scammell 12th, Braeden Snowdow 13th, Bob Dillow 14th and Mauro Iglesias 15th. Liam Nicholson and Rob Baker rounded out the field.
