Reece Hendl-Cox has stolen another Hi-Q Components NZ Formula First race win at the line in a three-wide photo finish at Pukekohe Park.
Hendl-Cox performed a classic drafting pass up and over the hill, on the final run to the flag to steal victory off Chris Symon. Liam Foster followed Hendl-Cox through and he too got by Symon to finish second.
Asten Addy and Amy Smith again showed aggression in the early part of the race to dice with the leaders. Smith managed to sit in behind the front three to finish fourth but, ultimately, Addy wasn’t able to hang on after a big move by fellow rookie Leo Scott which resulted in contact.
Scott would finish sixth behind Addy with Bree Morris in seventh, Ian Foster eighth, Kyan Davie ninth and Matthew McCutcheon tenth.
