Leo Scott scores debut Formula First victory

Leo Scott has won his first-ever Hi-Q Components NZ Formula First Championship race at Hampton Downs. Scott lead the field home by 6.4-seconds after Liam Foster spun, leaving him with the race lead.

Foster, who spun on lap three, then fell out of contention for the win and into a new battle for second between himself, Brody McConkey and Chris Symon. After a lap Hayden Bakkerus, Amy Smith and Zac Blincoe joined pack to make it a six-car battle for second place.

Eventually, it would be McConkey who would finished second ahead of Symon, crucially the latter beating him championship rival Foster who managed fourth. Bakkerus would finish fifth ahead of Smith and Blincoe.

Mason Potter, Dylan Grant, and Louis Sharp made up the next battle pack in eighth, ninth and tenth respectively with just 0.8-seconds covering the three at the line. Toby McCormack came home in 11th ahead of Jensen Foster and Liam Nicholson in 12th and 13th.

Bob Dillow took 14th ahead of David Scammell, and Jamie Newton in 15th and 16th less than half a second apart.
