Is It’s been a cracker of a Winter Series so far in 2017, and with one round still to go and 225 points on the line, the series is still mathematically open to six drivers!
Alex Hawley leads the series points proving consistency is key having not yet taken a win in the series but finishing on the podium the most out of all the drivers. The driver dubbed ‘Big Mac’ holds a 59 point margin over SpeedSport Scholarship driver Conrad Clark and sits 120 points clear of new comer Taylor Hurst.
However, both Clark and Hawley were forced off the podium in the previous two races with the return of young guns Callum Crawley, Billy Frazer and Kaleb Ngatoa in their new machinery. Crawley and Frazer both missed the opening round and are effectively racing the ‘three round series’. The pair is separated by just five points with Frazer currently leading the charge for the bragging rights.
A strong field is expected with Nathan Sudiono expected to return along with Josh Bethune and many others. The event is the final hit out before the National Championship kicks off on October 20-22 at Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon.
