Chris Symon timed his run to the chequered flag perfectly once again to win by the smallest of margins in race 20 of the Hi-Q Components NZ Formula First Championship at Pukekohe Park. Symon drafted up behind Zach Blincoe to pass him in the last moments of the race to win by just 0.081-seconds.
Behind second-placed Blincoe was Leo Scott who was in the hunt for the lead all race. Hayden Bakkerus joined the hunt for the lead late in the race and also set the fastest lap on his way to finishing fourth.
Championship chaser Liam Foster lead a large portion of the race but appeared to encounter another mechanical issue on the final lap and dropped to the rear of the lead pack out of turn four. Foster was then only able to finish in fifth place come the chequered flag half a lap later.
Dylan Grant crossed the line in sixth place with fellow rookie Louis Sharp some distance behind him in seventh. Jensen Foster was next to come home in eighth ahead of Mason Potter in ninth and Toby McCormack in tenth.
Liam Nicholson, Andrew Tierney and Rob Baker rounded out the field.
